Why my safety’s certain.

10 Mar

Once on a voyage, the sea lost it’s calm. The ship tossed, rocked and threatened to break up. Everyone aboard started to panick, everyone but one person – the captain. The captain’s wife was also on the ship. She spotted her husband walking around with all the calm in the universe. How could he? “With all the chaos on the ship, how could you remain calm? Don’t you even care about the passengers on board?” she shouted at him. Without saying a single word, he held her by the hand and led her to his cabin. he drew a sword and held it up like he was going to slice her clean in two. She, who had been frowning and grumbling all along, bursted into laughter. “What’s funny?” he asked. “Can’t you see a sword over your head? You’re about to be beheaded yet you’re laughing”. After laughing on for a few more seconds, she stopped, looked him straight in the eye and said, “I know the sword’s a dangerous tool. But I know the sword’s in your hands. You wouldn’t hurt me. I know that as much as I know I’m your wife.
